Admission Process Guidelines for Open and Distance Learning Programs

Overview This notification outlines the comprehensive admission process for various Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and Online programmes. The process emphasizes the mandatory creation of an ABC ID (Academic Bank of Credit account) as per UGC's Distance Education Bureau (DEB) directives, followed by the creation of a unique UGC DEB ID within the admission portal. Applicants must then log in, fill in personal and programme details, upload required documents, and pay the admission fee online to complete their enrollment. This is an admission process, not a competitive selection process. How to Apply Applicants must follow these step-by-step instructions to complete their admission: Step 1: Create ABC ID (Academic Bank of Credit account) As per UGC’s Distance Education Bureau (DEB) direction, an ABC ID is mandatory for accumulating and transferring academic credits from this session onwards. Create your ABC ID through the Digilocker facility. This can be done via the admission portal by clicking the “Click to Start” button. Required for ABC ID: ADHAAR, PAN, or Driving License. If you already have an ABC ID, proceed to Step 2. Step 2: Create UGC DEB ID After creating your ABC ID, you must create a UGC DEB ID on the Admission Portal. The UGC DEB ID is a unique permanent number for all your Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and Online programmes. If you already have a UGC DEB ID, you can use it for admission. Enter your UGC DEB ID in the designated place and click “Get Your Details” to confirm accuracy. If correct, “Click to Register” for the programmes. Step 3: Login to Admission Portal Upon clicking “Click to Register”, you will receive your Username and Password via mobile number and email (as provided during UGC DEB ID creation). Use these credentials to log in to the Admission Portal. A “Forgot Password” option is available if needed. Step 4: Complete Application Details and Payment After successful login, fill out the following details: Enter Personal Details. Select Programme & Enter Other Details. Upload Required Documents: Scanned Passport size photograph (File size < 500 KB, jpg/jpeg/png format) Scanned Final Marksheet/Certificate of the last educational qualification (File size < 500 KB, jpg/jpeg/png format) Scanned Photo Identity Card (PAN/Driving License/Aadhaar card) (File size < 500 KB, jpg/jpeg/png format) Scanned Signature (File size < 500 KB, jpg/jpeg/png format) PWD (Divyangjan), Caste, BPL Certificate (If Applicable) (File size < 500 KB, jpg/jpeg/png format) Preview & Pay the Fee Online: Review all submitted information and documents, then proceed to online fee payment. Accepted Payment Methods: Debit/Credit Card, Netbanking, Wallet/UPI (e.g., Phone Pay, Google Pay, WhatsApp Pay). Download the Receipt after successful payment. Important Note: All information and documents submitted must be correct and authentic. Admission will be cancelled, and fees will not be refunded, if any misinformation or invalid documents are detected at any stage.
