Overview The Department of Commerce, Dibrugarh University, in collaboration with the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), is organizing a two-day national seminar titled "GST Reforms and Impact on Rural and Urban Livelihood and Employment." This academic event aims to analyze the socio-economic impacts of GST reforms, specifically focusing on the economic resilience, livelihood dynamics, and employment patterns within the North-East region of India. The seminar explores three core sub-themes: GST and regional economic resilience, impacts on rural/urban livelihoods, and the challenges of digitalization and compliance in GST implementation.
