Overview India Space Lab is organizing an Online Workshop titled “Remote Sensing and GIS for Disaster Management” on the occasion of National Remote Sensing Day, 12 August 2026. This workshop is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of how geospatial technologies are utilized in disaster preparedness, monitoring, response, and recovery. Workshop Highlights Introduction to Remote Sensing and GIS technologies. Satellite data applications for disaster monitoring. Technical sessions on cyclone tracking, weather disaster analysis, flood monitoring, inundation mapping, wildfire detection, and burn severity assessment. Earthquake and landslide assessment techniques. Exploration of emerging technologies including GeoAI and drone mapping. Real-world disaster case studies and hands-on demonstrations. Participants will receive an E-Certificate of Participation.
