IIT Guwahati Recruitment 2026: Sports Instructors and Lifeguards

Overview: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati has announced a recruitment drive for 27 positions of Contractual Sports Instructors, Contractual Instructors (Gymnasium), and Lifeguards on a contractual basis. Important Dates: Interview Date: 24 June 2026 at 8:00 AM. Vacancies & Pay Scale: Total Vacancies: 27 posts. Monthly Remuneration: 35,000/- (consolidated). Post Breakdown: Contractual Sports Instructors: 21 posts (Disciplines: Track & Field-2, Badminton-1, Basketball-2, Cricket-1, Chess-1, Football-1, Hockey-2, Lawn Tennis-2, Squash-1, Swimming-2, Table Tennis-2, Volleyball-1, Weightlifting-2, Minor Game-1). Contractual Sports Instructor (Water Polo): 1 post. Contractual Instructor (Gymnasium): 1 post. Lifeguard: 2 posts. Eligibility Criteria: Contractual Sports Instructors: Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education (B.P.Ed) or Graduation with Diploma/Certificate in coaching or state/university-level participation. Water Polo Instructor: Water polo player at district/state/university/national/international level with 10+2/Certificate/Diploma in coaching or B.P.Ed. Gymnasium Instructor: B.P.Ed or 10+2 with a Certificate/Diploma in fitness training (1 year experience in a govt. registered gym required). Lifeguard: Valid lifeguard certificate. Age Limit: 45 years (desirable). Selection Process: Candidates must attend a walk-in interview on 24 June 2026 at 8:00 AM at IIT Guwahati.
