• The Registrar typically issues an invitation for applications in the month of June/July every year.

Vacancies & Pay Scale

• The scheme applies to officers in the pay band of Rs. 15,600-39,100/- with a Grade Pay (GP) of Rs. 5,400/- and above, as well as those in the pay band of Rs. 12,000-40,000/- with GP of Rs. 5,400/-.
• Note: Promotion entails incremental benefits rather than a change in base pay band, depending on the specific eligibility stage.

Eligibility Criteria

• Must be an officer serving in permanent posts (excluding term posts).
• Minimum of eight years of continuous service in the lower category.
• Must hold a Post-Graduate degree in any discipline (Bachelor degree in medical, engineering, or law is considered for professional areas).
• Clean and meritorious service record verified through Performance Appraisal Reports, Self-Appraisal Reports, and Confidential Reports.
• Must not have been punished for misconduct or offence during the eight years preceding the application.
• Must have no other regular promotional avenues available at the University.

Selection Process

• Applications are invited annually.
• Eligibility is scrutinized by a Screening Committee constituted by the Vice-Chancellor.
• A Selection Committee evaluates candidates and makes recommendations to the Executive Council.
• Approval and appointment are finalized by the Executive Council.

How to Apply

• Interested officers must submit the prescribed Performance Appraisal Report (Annexure-I) and Self-Appraisal Report (Annexure-II) along with relevant service records to the office of the Registrar upon the official notification issued annually in June/July.
