Directorate of Land Records & Surveys, Assam has released an employment notification for the recruitment of 579 Land Record Assistant (LRA) posts under amalgamated establishment of District Commissioners office (except sixth schedule areas). Candidates who have successfully completed 6 (six) months Recorders Certificate Class Course (RCCC) Training from the Assam Survey & Settlement Training Centre and have been declared proficient in the mandated examination by an official result declared by the Director of Land Records & Surveys etc., Assam, in both Survey and Settlement subjects are only eligible to apply for these posts. Age Limit: Age of the candidates should be between 21 years to 40 years as on 01.01.2026. Age relaxation for reserved category shall be applicable as per Government policy.
The age limit of the candidates will be calculated on the basis of the Class X/ Class-XII Examination Admit Card/Pass Certificate/Mark sheet issued by recognized Central/State Board/Council where age/Date of Birth is clearly mentioned.
RCCC Qualification: Candidates must have passed the Recorder Certificate Class Course Training from Assam Survey & Settlement Training Centre, Dakhingaon, Guwahati-40 in the mandated examination by an official result declared by the Director of Land Records & Surveys etc., Assam, in both Survey and Settlement subjects, prior to the commencement of Govt. notification No. LA&A/429557/158 dated 13.08.2026 .
Computer Proficiency: Candidates must have proficiency in use of Computers having computer typing speed minimum 30 WPM in English and 15WPM in Assamese/Bengali.
NOC for Govt. Employees: Candidates already in Central/State Government service should apply through proper channel and should produce NOC (No objection Certificate) from the respective HoDs (Heads of Departments) at the time of document verification.

The selection process of Land Record Assistant (LRA) posts consist of following stages.
Candidates whose applications are accepted as per criteria will be shortlisted and shall be notified in due course of time. The qualified candidates will be required to appear in the competitive written examination in Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) pattern.
The Written examination (Paper 1) is of total 80 marks with negative marking of 0.25 mark for each incorrect answer. The subject-wise distribution of marks for Written Examination (80Marks) is as follows:
The candidates shortlisted on the basis of written examination shall have to appear for Skill Test (Computer Proficiency test).
The Skill Test (Paper–II) (20 Marks) shall be of practical nature and shall assess Assamese or Bengali Unicode typing, Basic computer operations, Document preparation and formatting, Data entry, file handling, and printing.
The final merit list shall be prepared on the basis of the aggregate marks obtained by the
candidates in the Written Examination and Skill Test, subject to the candidate securing the
prescribed minimum qualifying marks in both components and fulfillment of all eligibility
conditions upon document verification .
