Overview Dibrugarh University has issued a notification regarding updates to the Mathematics curriculum under the Four Year Under Graduate Programme (FYUGP), aligned with the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The Academic Council has officially approved the incorporation of two additional minor courses for the 7th and 8th semesters, effective from the 2026-2027 academic session. Updated Course Curriculum As per the resolution passed in the 137th Academic Council meeting, the following subjects have been introduced: 7th Semester: Theory of Equations 8th Semester: Linear Programming Programme Highlights The FYUGP Mathematics curriculum aims to foster critical, logical, and analytical thinking. The syllabus is structured to provide: Flexibility in switching disciplines and institutions. Practical exposure through computer labs (MATLAB, C programming). Alignment with industry requirements in science, technology, finance, and research. Degree Structure Overview The program offers modular exit/completion points: UG Certificate: 2 Major, 2 Minor, 2 MDGEC, 2 AEC, 2 VAC, 2 SEC. UG Diploma: 8 Major, 4 Minor, 3 MDGEC, 2 AEC, 3 VAC, 3 SEC. 3-Year UG Degree: 15 Major, 6 Minor, 3 MDGEC, 2 AEC, 3 VAC, 3 SEC, Internship, Community Engagement. 4-Year Honours Degree: 20 Major, 8 Minor, 3 MDGEC, 2 AEC, 3 VAC, 3 SEC, Internship, Research Ethics, and 2 DSE.
