Dibrugarh UniversityDraft Policy for Earn While You Learn Cum Internship (EWYLI)
Overview Dibrugarh University has introduced the 'Earn While You Learn cum Internship (EWYLI)' policy. This initiative aims to provide students with experiential learning opportunities and financial self-sufficiency. It allows students pursuing regular courses to intern in various non-teaching Departments, Centres, or Cells within the University during their Summer or Winter breaks. The scheme is designed to enhance job-readiness, teach practical office skills, and provide compensation to assist with students' day-to-day financial needs and educational expenses. Implementation and Management Management: A dedicated Centre/Cell with a Chairperson/Coordinator will manage the recruitment process and coordinate between departments and the Registrar’s office. Support Team: The Chairperson may appoint up to 3 members from existing full-time faculty or full-time research scholars to assist in operations. Records: The Centre/Cell is responsible for maintaining documentation for all job holders/interns. Compensation: All financial and compensation-related matters are handled strictly by the Registrar’s office. Decision Making: The final authority to continue or discontinue the scheme rests with the Vice-Chancellor/Registrar of Dibrugarh University. Eligibility Criteria The policy is applicable to students currently enrolled in regular courses of study at Dibrugarh University, including those under the FYIPGP Course Structure.
